Module objectives: create EAN13 codes and display bar codes
This module allows you to create EAN13 codes but also and above all to display the corresponding bar codes on the front office as well as on invoices and delivery slips:
If you have registered an EAN for the product and one for a combination of the same product the EAN barcode of the combination will be displayed.
This module also allows the recording and display of bar codes of EAN 8, 15 and 18 codes which by default are not accepted by PrestaShop.
EAN13 code generator
This module will allow you to register EAN 13s with an EAN code generator (with a specific prefix for the products and one for the combinations in order to better separate them and identify them more easily).
To avoid any problem, the module also takes care of checking for duplicates (same EAN13 code) and for each duplicate you have:
- the EAN and the products or variations concerned
- a link to the page of each product concerned
- a field allowing to change each of these EAN codes
Display of bar codes on front office hooks
The module can display the barcode in different places (hooks) on the front office:
- displayProductPriceBlock on the product page and quick view
- displayProductButtons on the product page and quick view
- displayFooterProduct at the bottom of the product page
- displayImgBarCode can be displayed wherever you insert it in the theme (requires manual modification of the file concerned)
A new hook (displayImgBarCode) is available if you wish, you can put it where you want as long as you manually modify the corresponding file.
The dimensions of the bar codes are configurable for each hook and for each EAN, this will allow you to display bar codes more or less large in width and in height.
This module will allow you to save time, in particular during the preparation of orders thanks to the display of bar codes on invoices and delivery slips for each product / combination.
Barcode customization
It is obviously possible to have a rendering for each hook and each EAN (8, 13, 15, 18) in order to check the readability of the bar codes.
Simplification of inventory management
You can also modify product stocks just by scanning the barcode and indicating the new stock, no need to waste time going to each product page, each combination ...
If 2 products have the same EAN13, the module indicates this clearly, it is therefore advisable to remove the duplicates in order to have a unique code per product.
This module can also be used in CRON task if you modify your EAN codes or if you import products.
Updating barcode images via a CRON job
Not only can you perform CRON tasks but in addition the module can send you an email to know that the task has been carried out with information on what has been done.
You can thus:
- remove barcode images
- regenerate barcode images
- Generate EAN13 codes (with saved prefixes) for products and combinations
- Detect the presence of duplicate EAN numbers
